SNOW DAY TOMORROW!!!!!!!

Not Omaha, but you get the idea!

We had ample warning that the snow was coming  but, dang! It took me an hour to make a 25 minute drive after school today. Fortunately, our district is forward thinking, and let us all know that school was cancelled tomorrow. Only a teacher can appreciate that notification BEFORE they leave school for the day, right? Sleep in, cuddle with the kids (furbabies in my case), do a little baking, laundry, websurfing, DVD watching, oh, and did I mention eating? Oh yeah! I spent beaucoup bucks at the grocery store in anticipation of being snowed in! Some people eat to live, I live to eat! Ha! To all of you who have to work tomorrow, I'll be thinkin' bout ya! :)

I'M SO JEALOUS! Enjoy your day--it sounds great! We have school today AND tomorrow, although tomorrow is an early dismissal (meaning all art classes are 20 minutes, NEAT). All of the classroom teachers are showing movies and having board game days, and I'm here in the art room, teaching. And writing on other peoples' blogs to avoid cleaning up or planning or anything productive...

Jealous. Not of the day off, since ALL my days are 'off', but jealous of the snow. We got about 1/4" a couple of days ago, and then just cold miserable rain. It looks a bit gloomy again today, and the forecast calls for rain and wind tomorrow in anticipation of the end of the world. Snow showers are forecasted for Saturday, (i guess to freshen it up a bit AFTER the world ends) but no talk of accumulation. I don't ski or snowmobile or any other winter sport, but I do like a nice puffy white snowfall and I actually enjoy shoveling a bit too. It's my winter exercise. Plus I love driving my trusty Subaru in the snow. I know, I'm weird. Enjoy your snow day and have a wonderful holiday!

Just out of (maybe ignorant) curiosity: if it is so bad out TODAY, why did they close school for TOMORROW and not TODAY? Won't the roads be clear by tomorrow?

I feel ya girl! All the school districts here took a snow day too. Luckily, my district was smart enough to get the calendar right...our official last day was yesterday. Hello winter break!

Enjoy your snow day Pat! I've never had one. You know Californians are such weather wimps, the slighted bit of rain and the meteorologist announces, "Storm Watch!" Your day sounds like fun!

Love snowdays! Especially when I don't have to shovel! Enjoy your day! Where I am it is raining buckets and buckets of rain today! If it were snow it would end up being several feet! This is our last day of school before holiday break and the kids are definitely squirmy today! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! :)
